Carlos Papá Mirim is an indigenous leader and filmmaker of the Guarani Mbya people. He has been working for more than 20 years with audiovisual productions, with the aim of strengthening and valuing the Mbya Guarani culture through the making of documentaries, films and cultural workshops for young people. He also acts as a spiritual leader in his community. He lives in the village of Rio Silveira, where he participates in collective decisions and seeks to help his community find ways to live better. He is an Advisor to the Maracá Institute and a representative for the north coast of São Paulo of the Guarani Yvy rupa (CGY) commission
